Danica Patrick Will Reportedly Join NASCAR Series Full-Time Beginning In 2012

Danica Patrick will reportedly begin to race full time on the NASCAR Nationwide and Sprint Cup Series full time beginning next year in 2012.
The final deal has not yet been completed, but the official announement is expected to be made next week.
Patrick will continue to drive her No.7 GoDaddy.com Chevrolet car in 2012.
The majority of the races she will compet in next year will ne on the Nationwide Series, but she will also participate in a number of Sprint Cup Series events under Stewart-Haas Racing, owned by NASCAR’s Tony Stewart.
“Tony Stewart has always said he’d love to have her, but we’re a long ways from being at that point,” remarked Stewart-Haas spokesman Mike Arning this week. “From a Stewart-Haas Racing standpoint, things aren’t there yet.”
Patrick has been a full-time driver on the Indy circuit since back in 2005, and the 2012 Indy 500 remains up in the air as to whether or not she will compete in that event next year.
The Sprint Cup Series moves to Michigan International Speedway this week for the running of the Pure Michigan 400, with Sprint Cup Points leader Carl Edwards th leading favorite prior to qualifying, going off at 7/1 on NASCAR Betting Lines at Bodog Sportsbook. Jimmie Johnson has also been set at 7/1 to lead the odds with Edwards.
Denny hamlin and Kyle Busch come in just behind at 8/1, with Jeff Gordon round out the top-five odds at 9/1 on online sportsbooks.
