Evans vs Davis/Sonnen vs Bisping Headline UFC On Fox 2 Saturday Night
January 28, 2012 – By Scott
Two huge fights that fans have awaited will take place featuring Rashad Evans taking on Phil Davis and Chael Sonnen taking on Michael Bisping.
Evans is not only known for his ability in the ring, but his outspoken personality as well. He tends to voice his opinions about his opponents leading up to his fights but this time around really doesn’t have too much to say about Davis. Perhaps the only thing that can be taken from him leading up to the fight is that he might not feel his opponent has done enough to warrant a fight with him.
“Phil is just a nice guy,” Evans said during a recent conference call. “He’s not a fighter. He’s an athlete, a great athlete, but not a fighter. He has no killer instinct for this and he’s got no experience at this level.
“He’s never fought at heavyweight like I had to [on “The Ultimate Fighter” 2] to get into the UFC. He didn’t get punched by Chuck Liddell and Jackson like I did.
“He’s not had to dig deep at all. He’s in deep water, and I’m the shark.”
The winner of this fight is on a path for a shot at the lightweight title. Evans has been the top contender since his win over Rampage and will try to use his boxing skills to overcome the wrestling advantage that his opponent in Davis will bring to the fight.
UFC on Fox 2 Betting lines have Evans favored with a moneyline set at -210. Davis has his line set at +170.
Sonnen vs Bisping is the other top fight set for Saturday night. This middleweight bout will also pit the winner as the top contender for the title. Sonnen enters the fight with a record of 26-11-1 while Bisping has an overall record of 22-3.
Sonnen will be the huge favorite according to UFC on Fox 2 Betting Lines with a moneyline set at -400 while Bisping has his line set at +300.
