Jackie Evancho Leading America’s Got Talent Betting Odds
September 4th, 2010 – Written By Bonnie
The vocal sounds of the youngest America’s Got Talent contestant, Jackie Evancho, can only be describe as a truely unique gift. When hearing the strong opera voice that comes from this itty bitty person, most are in disbelief that it is really Jackie Evancho singing. She has become an instant star over night and the video of her first performance on America’s Got Talent continues to draw in traffic on youtube. Many performers train their entire life to be on the level that Jackie Evancho has already reached at such a young age. She claims that she has only been singing for about 2 years, but sounds as if she is a grown adult who has practiced her entire life.
Jackie Evancho has made this season of America’s Got Talent one of the most watched seasons yet, and even online sportsbooks are backing her up as the contestant likely to take home the title of winner of season 5 of America’s Got Talent.
There are actually several entertaining acts that have made it to the final ten this week. Fighting Gravity is one act that deserves a headline show in Vegas. Whether they win or not, Vegas is the place for them. The originality of their act leaves the audience wanting more. Each time they take the stage they manage to give the audience a fresh new performance every time. There is no doubt that these college students have what it takes to make it in the entertainment business and they are well on their way to being there.
While most will agree that Christina and Ali have won the hearts of America from the first day they appeared, they will also agree that their act is nothing special and took up a spot in the top ten in place of an act that actually had talent. They are the act that America wants to win, despite the lack of talent. Their story is very heart warming and inspiring, but they are nowhere close to being in the same category as Jackie Evancho.
Professionals pick apart every act and almost always come close to picking a winner. and the entertainment betting odds have Jackie Evancho and Fighting Gravity listed as the clear favorites to come out on top.

I love this little angel. Her young voice cannot stand the unbelievable stress she is putting on it. I am very afraid that the extra resonance in her voice was strain from too much practice and not nearly enough lung capacity to support such long held notes. Rest your voice, Jackie. Take a little time off. Do not utter a sound for at least 48 hours.
Jackie is a cute girl with a great voice who sings opera like a pro. She’ll have a great career but I think all the praise heaped on her by the judges and others may backfire. As to the girls with CF, inspirational — yes, but did they take a spot from someone with more talent — they didn’t take it away, the judges gave the girls a Top Ten spot. Many bloggers berate the girls who did the best they could with the hand dealt them. Berate the judges, if anyone, for sentimentality but not these girls whose life spans are quite limited (approx. 30 years). They don’t deserve harsh treatment for trying and succeeding against great odds few others can fathom. My personal bet is on Michael Grimm, Prince Poppycock — one and two, respectively.
Jackie Evancho is a remarkable talent who needs to have someone help her unlearn her bad vocal habits. A vibrato should never be created with jaw movement as her’s is. The talent is there, but she will be in trouble if she does not find a teacher who understands the dynamic of a child’s voice as opposed to an adult’s. As for who should win – Fighting Gravity and Prince Poppycock are best suited for Vegas, but I’ll take Michael Grimm any day. He’s fabulous and deserves a big career.
