Jones / Kosheck Win At UFC 135…UFC 136 Betting Lines Now Available
At UFC 135 on Saturday night in Denver, despite the many fights on hand, two key matchups took place. Jon Jones took on Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Matt Hughes looked to show fans he still had what it takes as he took on Josh Kosheck. And after all was said and done, MMA Sportsbooks got it right in their predictions.“I’m in the best shape of my life,” said Jackson. “I expected to come out here and close the distance and overthrow Jon Jones. I thought it was hype, but the kid is good.
“The kid is here to stay. Whoever is fighting him next, I don’t see [anybody] beating him. This was the best Rampage and he had me mesmerized.”
The next fighter up for Jones is going to be Rashad Evans. However, there still has not been a date set for the two to fight.
Much speculation was surrounding Hughes’ retirement following his fight with Kosheck. He showed in the fight he had the heart, but just did not have the athleticism that he needed to get the win and Kosheck knocked out the veteran in the first round for only his 9th loss in his career. But after the fight, Hughes made it clear what his future plans are.
“I’m not retiring,” Hughes said. “I’m going to tell UFC to put me on the shelf. We’ll see after that.”
With UFC 135 now in the books, MMA fans can begin to get hyped about about UFC 136. This event will take place on Saturday, October 8 at the Toyaota Center in Houston, Texas. Some great fights are on the card, but the biggest two of the night will showcase Gray “The Bully” Maynard against Frankie “The Answer” Edgar and Chael Sonnen taking on Brian “All American” Stenn.
