L.A Clippers Favored Over Denver Nuggets In Thursday Night NBA Action
The Denver Nuggets travel to the Staples Center on Thursday night to match up with the Los Angeles Clippers in a Western Conference Battle.
The Nuggets come into this one having dropped two-straight following a six-game win streak before that.
A road victory over the Pacific Division leading Clippers would be exactly what is needed to stop the bleeding.
Last month, Denver went 12-5, and will try to put together another solid month.
“We’ve had a great month of January,” Denver head coach George Karl said. “It might have been the best month I’ve ever had in Denver in my mind.”
On the other side of the court, the Clippers have won four games in a row, with Chris Paul putting up a season-high 34 points to go along with 11 assists in their most-recent win over the Utah Jazz.
It was just the second win in 44 trips to Utah.
“This was a pretty good win for us.We didn’t know the history of that but it’s a new team right here,” Paul said after the win.
“The sky’s the limit. We have all the pieces to be a great team. We got to keep getting better defensively, but we have the closers, we have the shot blockers, we have the shooters and everything that you need.”
During the four-game streak, Los Angeles is putting up ovver 106 points per game, and shooting just under 50 percent from the field.
“We’re tired, but we have another game against a very difficult opponent,” Clippers head coach Vinny Del Negro said. “We’re going to have to get ready.”
Oddsmakers believe this one will be close, having set the Clippers as slight one-point favorites over the Nuggets on NBA betting Odds at Bovada Sportsbook.
The over/under point total has been set at 206 points, indicating that oddsmakers believe there will be some high scoring going on.
This one tips off at 10:30pm ET, with coverage on TNT.
