Miami Heat 7-Point Home Favorites Over Philadelphia 76ers
January 21, 2012 – By Scott
The Heat (10-4) ended a three-game skid with a win over San Antonio on Tuesday night and followed up with a 98-87 win over the Lakers on Thursday.
However, they will face another tough home matchup again with out Wade in the lineup as they host the Philadelphia 76ers.
The Sixers (11-4) will probably enter the game with a chip on their shoulder after being ousted from the playoffs last season by the Heat. Miami won the seven game series in five to advance to the second round but did not do it without a fight. In four of the series games, they were decided by eight points or less.
Now, Philadelphia is emerging as one of the best teams in the NBA. They are five games ahead in the Atlantic and are winners in 10 of their last twelve games. But they will face a tough matchup when they face Lebron James and the Heat on Saturday night at 7:30 pm ET.
“We can play (well) against tough teams,” Sixers forward Andre Iquodala said.
They will need their best effort against Miami who is first in the NBA in scoring getting 106.6 points per game. James is leading the Heat in scoring with 29.9 points per game and Wade and Chris Bosh both are getting 19.6. The Sixers though are 2nd in the league in points per game allowed with just 86.7
However, they will be without Wade again but that hasn’t really mattered with him not being in the lineup as the heat are 5-0 when he doesn’t play.
Miami will need a better effort on the defensive side of the court than they have shown this season. They rank 24th in the league allowing 98.4 points per game. and will face a Philadelphia team that is getting 100.3.
NBA Basketball Betting Lines have the Heat favored by 7 over the Sixers. The OVER/UNDER in points is set at 194.
