New England Patriots Lead Randy Moss Comeback Odds
Randy Moss was definitely a prolific receiver in his prime with the Minnesota Vikings, and even later in his career as a member of the New England Patriots.
But Moss was very outspoken, and a player that at least publicly appeared to be a difficult personality to deal with in the locker room.
Moss ended his career in 2010, playing for three teams during that season.
But after a year off, Moss said that he wants to come back to the NFL, where he believes that he can still contribute to a Super Bowl contender in 2012.
The question is though, which team will take the risk? If any.
Oddsmakers are jumping in, installing a couple NFL Player Prop Odds at Bovada Sportsbook on the subject.
And the betting lines favor one of Moss’ former team in the Patriots.
Moss was very successful during his time in New England, setting the single-season touchdown receptions record on the same catch that Tom Brady set the all-time single season touchdown pass mark.
It was a remarkable 2007 season for them both, though ultimately culminating in a Super Bowl loss.
But the Patriots are 5/2 favorites to bring him back.
New England is the leader on this line, with the Chicago Bears following behind at 7/2. Bears’ quarterback Jay Cutler is quite different from Brady, but oddsmakers obviously have heard something of the sort. Chicago is a team built to win now as well.
The San Francisco 49ers and Washington Redskins come in at 5/1.
Who will sign Randy Moss next?
New England Patriots 5/2
Chicago Bears 7/2
San Francisco 49ers 5/1
Washington Redskins 5/1
New York Jets 11/2
St. Louis Rams 7/1
Dallas Cowboys 10/1
Philadelphia Eagles 10/1
Will Randy Moss win NFL Comeback Player of the Year for the 2012 Regular Season?
