Nick Diaz Favored Over Carlos Condit At UFC 143 Saturday Night
February 4, 2012 – By Scott
The main card fights can be seen live on pay-per-view and the headline action of the night is no doubt the fight between Nick Diaz and Carlos Condit.
Diaz (26-7 MMA, 7-4 UFC) was originally scheduled to take on Georges St. Pierre, but he will be out thanks to a knee injury until around November. Because of this, this fight will be for the 170 pound interim title.
Diaz is by no means a fan favorite which was evident by the booing he received during his final interview before Saturday’s fight. But the fact remains he is a force to be reckoned with.
Condit (27-5 MMA, 4-1 UFC) has gotten off to a great start but he might be in for one heck of a fight facing Diaz. Diaz brings an assault that comes often and most of the time very punishing. And he realizes he is in for a battle but is very excited about the opportunity.
“I’m as prepared as I’ve ever been,” Condit said. “I can not wait to get out there and do this.”
