No.21 Florida State Seminoles Favored (-10) Over Virginia Tech Hokies
The No. 21 Florida State Seminoles host the Virginia Tech Hokies on Thursday night in ACC basketball action, with the Seminoles looking to remain atop the conference standings.
The Seminoles rebounded nicely with a win over Miami this past weekend after a bad loss to Boston College that snapped a six-game win streak.
Florida State remains in a three-way tie in the ACC, though owns the tiebreaker over both North Carolina and Duke currently.
For the Seminoles, it was a road win over the Hokies earlier this season that got them going on the streak that catapulted them atop the standings. It was especially big after losing their ACC opener to Clemson.
“We had to win that (Virginia Tech) game,” FSU guard Deividas Dulkys said. “It was either going up or going down and not coming back.”
The Seminoles got back to their defensive ways against Miami, after allowing Boston College to shoot nearly 50 percent from 3-point range.
Hopefully we can be more consistent as we move through the rest of our season,” Seminoles head coach Leonard Hamilton said. “We bounced back (Saturday).”
On the other side of the court for the Hokies, they come in just 3-7 in ACC play, but squeaked out a win over Boston College in their last out 66-65.
“They grew up a little bit tonight,” Virginia Tech head coach Seth Greenberg said. “They showed they wanted to win. They showed great resiliency. They showed some toughness. We made some plays we hadn’t made. It’s good to find a way to win a close game. We’ve got something we can build on.”
The Hokies come in as double-digit home underdogs to the Seminoles on Thursday night though.
College Basketball Betting Odds at Bovada Sportsbook have set Florida State as 10-point favorites over Virginia Tech.
The Seminoles are -650 to get the win straight up, while the Hokies are +425.
The over/under point total has been set at 127 points.
Tip off is at 7pm ET, with coverage on ESPN2.
