The story of Superman goes much further back than the Superman Movie, which was released in 1978. Superman is one of the most beloved super hero characters of all time which, originally started out as just comic-book character back in 1932. Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster created this character and never dreamed it would turn into one of the most talked about super heroes ever created. It wasn’t until 1938 that the first taste of Superman was launched to the public in Action Comics #1. The public loved what they saw and turned Superman into a multi-million dollar franchise.

Every where you looked it was Superman t-shirts, Superman lunch boxes, Superman everything. Some remember that film as being the big break for up and coming actor Christopher Reeve. Christopher Reeve landed the leading role and made Superman as life like as he could possibly be. For years, Christopher continued entertaining audiences as the number 1 super hero of all time. It was a great loss for the entertainment industry with the passing of one of our favorite super hero actors, Christopher Reeve. He will always be remembered as the original Superman.

Though so much time that has passed since a good super hero like Superman has hit the big screen, director Zack Snider is taking on the task of delivering the new and improved super hero Superman, which is currently under production. It has only recently been made official that the film will in fact be pushing for a release date of sometime in 2011, due to copyright issues. No names have been mentioned as to which actor would be taking on the leading role in the new Superman film, but online sportsbooks have a list of the possible names to be thrown into the mix. Superman fans may want to get in on the action and voice their opinion on a new Superman by placing a wager using entertainment betting odds listed at online gambling sites.
