Philadelphia Eagles Favored By 3 At Home Against New York Jets

The New York Jets and Philadelphia Eagles are clinging to playoff hopes as they head into the final three games of the season. And when these two meet on Sunday afternoon, the loser could find themselves completely out of postseason contention.
The Jets (8-5) are two games behind New England in the AFC East heading into their final three games. The Eagles (5-8) are also two games back behind co-leaders in the NFC East Dallas and the New York Giants and are trying to hang on for a wild-card spot.
“It’s exciting. We’ve got three games left and it’s up for grabs,” coach Andy Reid said. “I’d say that’s a good thing.”
The Jets bring in the 25th ranked team in the NFL in total offense but have turned things around drastically in their three-game winning streak. They have put up 13 touchdowns during this span and are coming off their best offensive performance of the year in their win over Kansas City last weekend. Not to mention, quarterback Mark Sanchez has caught fire and has seven touchdowns and just one interception during the win streak.
The Eagles snapped a two-game skid last weekend when they beat the Miami Dolphins 26-10. Quarterback Michael Vick made his way back into the lineup for the win after missing games with broken ribs.
“Just having his presence in the huddle, it changes everything,” running back LeSean McCoy said. “There are plays that should be called dead or be stopped, and instead you have Vick running around making plays down the field, so it’s good to have him back.”
McCoy has done his job all season and has rushed for 1,172 yards and 14 touchdowns. But he will face a challenge against a strong Jets rushing defense which has allowed just 83.7 yards per game on the ground in their past three games.
The Jets will be seeking their first ever win over the Eagles in their matchup Sunday. And this might be the opportunity to break this streak as Philadelphia has not played well at Lincoln Financial Field this year where they are just 1-5 at home.
