Team USA Basketball Betting Odds vs Nigeria
Two games up, and two relatively easy victories for the men’s United States basketball team. After a bit of a sluggish first half against Tunisia on Tuesday at the 2012 London Olympics. But behind Carmelo Anthony, the United States opened it up in the second half to a 110-63 win.
The United States second team played the majority of the second half, which is a very good sign as they move forward.
It was nice to see a rhythm with the team connecting on outside shots from inside the 3-point line, hitting 17 of 22 in the first half. But outside of the 3-point line they still aren’t shooting the ball that well. But asserting themselves athletically, and overpowering in the lane while driving to the hole is an advantage that no other team in the tournament shares.
Next up for Team USA is Nigeria on Thursday.
Oddsmakers are once again favoring the United States big in this one, though not quite as big as the 54-point line over Tunisia, for which they did not cover. 2012 Olympics Betting Odds available at Bovada Sportsbook have set Team USA as 42.5-point favorites over Nigeria.
Ok, so it’s still a huge line. But they are 12 points closer.
The United States are 1-1 against the spread in their two games, and to get a victory on the betting line this time, they will need to win by at least 43 points. That would be yet another blowout victory for the United States if they get even anywhere close to that.
Team USA is certainly asserting themselves in this tournament, and are proving why they came in as the overwhelming favorites.
