Team USA Olympics Basketball Betting Odds vs Lithuania
Anyone who thought Team USA was having trouble starting games off on the right foot are now silenced. The United States men’s basketball set the all-time scoring record for the Olympics by putting up 156 points in a 156-73 route over Nigeria.
It was simply a game in which the United States were firing on all cylinders, and could not be stopped.
It started with the three-point shot, for which Team USA connected on a record 26 three points attempts and a total of 59 field goals. We can safely say that if they played like that against the 1992 Dream Team, not only would they win, it frankly would not be even close.
Next up for the United States is Lithuania. No surprise here, Team USA is is a big favorite.
2012 Olympic Basketball Betting Odds available at Bovada Sportsbook have been set at 35-point favorites over Lithuania, which is second-lowest betting line in four games that they have been installed with. they were set as 42.5-point favorites over over Nigeria.
So while it’s one of the closer lines for Team USA, it’s still a lot of points to cover.
To cover the line, The United States will need to win by at least 36 points to cover the betting line, with a 34-point victory or less going the way of Lithuania. We would say that it’s a lot of points for the team to cover, but they just won by about 80 points in their last outing.
The over/under point total for this one has been set at 186.5 points.
Coach K ought to be feeling pretty good about where his team is right now, with just about any player he puts on the floor shooting the ball well and making smart decisions. It must be a nice feeling to have.
Team USA and Nigeria tip off on Saturday at 9:30 am ET, with coverage picked up by the NBC Sports network.
