USC Trojans 2012-13 BCS Championship Betting Odds
The USC Trojans top the list of betting favorites to win the 2012-13 BCS Championship for the upcoming college football season.
It’s the first time in three years that the Trojans will actually be eligible to play in a postseason game, since serving the sanctions for the whole Reggie Bush fiasco.
It’s almost like a new era in SoCal, but with Matt Barkley still at the helm at the quarterback position, it is anything but.
Barkley is the Heisman frontrunner in the preseason, and the driving force behind the lofty expectations coming out of the Trojans program following spring practice and through the summer leading up to September.
USC has been set at 3/1 on the list of favorites to win the BCS Championship next season on odds available at Bovada Sportsbook.
The Trojans are in front of LSU and Alabama, the two teams who met in the championship game last season, with the Crimson Tide coming out on top in the first-ever national title between two teams from the same conference in the BCS era.
USC won the PAC 12 South division last season, but were not eligible to compete in the conference championship game because of the sanctions. This will be the first time since Barkley was a freshman at Southern Cal that he can play in a bowl game and potential conference title game, and he said that definitely played a role in his decision to return for his senior year.
The timing couldn’t be better either, with the Trojans right at the top of the favorites. It’s weird how that works out sometimes.
One thing’s for sure though, and that is that head coach Lane Kiffin has a very good football this season, who are the favorites in the PAC 12 just ahead of the Oregon Ducks. The Ducks will likely be a preseason top-five team, and we could be in for a real treat when these two teams take the field against each other on Nov. 3.
