2012 Olympics Women’s Basketball: U.S. vs France Preview and Betting Odds

The word dominant could very easily be an understatement when finding a way to describe how the U.S. Women’s Basketball team has performed in the 2012 Olympics.

Their win streak is unreal and how they have been in total control of every game is even more impressive.

After capitalizing on a strong second half performance in the semifinals matchup with Australia to get their 86-73 win, they now turn focus to their gold medal game where they will face France.

France earned the right to play in Saturday’s finals with a 81-64 win over Russia in their semifinals matchup.

There really wasn’t any question when the Olympics began that the U.S. women would be the favorite to take home the gold.  They rarely struggled in any contest leading up their game with Australia but found themselves in quite unfamiliar territory.  That being having to exert a little more effort to pull out a win.

But the resilience that this team has is what their opponents have lacked.  It will take an almost perfect effort by the French to pull of the upset in the gold medal game Saturday afternoon.

A fifth straight gold is on the line for the U.S. women’s basketball team and Bovada Sportsbook has fielded their 2012 Olympics Women’s Basketball Gold Medal Game Betting Odds, installing the U.S. as huge 22-point favorites.  The OVER/UNDER in total points is set at 150 1/2.

Placing a wager on the women to capture the gold will only pay out if they win by 23 points or more.  For the total points wager, if 150 is the combined score then the bet goes to the UNDER.  A total of 151 or more will go the the OVER.

The game can be seen live on NBC at 3:00 pm ET.
