The New Orleans Hornets got off to a fast start at home this season and won 20 of their first 25 games at New Orleans Arena. But their last two games at home have resulted in losses for the Hornets. They will get a chance to right the ship on Saturday night when they host the Chicago Bulls.
The Bulls (35-16) will end their five game road trip against the Hornets Saturday. This game will feature a great matchup between two of the best guards in the NBA with the Bulls’ Derrick Rose and the Hornets’ Chris Paul.
Against Paul’s Hornets, Rose and his Bulls have won all three previous matchups and will look for the fourth as they continue to stay in the hunt for the East’s best record where they are three games back from leader Miami and 2 1/2 behind Boston.
A win on Saturday will give the Bulls a 3-2 record on their current road trip. Chicago beat Utah on Wednesday after losing two straight. Rose came up with a huge steal with 1:05 left to play and scored 29 points in the 91-86 win. Strong defensive efforts by Chicago over their last 11 games have been huge as they are allowing just 88.1 points during this span.
Before their 99-93 win last night at Orlando, the Hornets (33-22) were riding a four game losing streak. Paul had 15 points and 7 assists in the win, a win he said was crucial.
“This was very needed,” said Paul. “After four losses in a row sometimes you forget what it’s like to win. When we came out of that last timeout midway through the fourth quarter, I told the fellas: ‘Let’s win it. We’ve had enough close ones. Let’s take this game.’ And we did that.”
The Hornets have lost 6 of their last 10 games and online sportsbooks feel they will not get the win Saturday night as the Bulls enter the game as 3 point favorites. The OVER/UNDER is set at 182.
