Denver Broncos Leap Seattle Seahawks On Super Bowl 49 Odds Heading Into Training Camp

Peyton ManningThe 2014 NFL season is coming up fast, with the start of training camp beginning over the next couple of weeks. Teams will be back in action with the goal of making it to Super Bowl XLIX.

Coaches, players, and fans will be anxious to see how the teams look heading into the preseason. Of course, like with every offseason, there are plenty of previews, predictions, and hype heading into Week 1.

The biggest indicator of that surrounds the betting odds to win the 2015 Super Bowl.

As expected, teams that played well last season and went deep into the playoffs are right at the top of the list of preseason Super Bowl favorites heading into the start of training camp. In fact, if we were to go by the odds alone, we would have a repeat of the Super Bowl 48 matchup.

The Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks lead the way to win it all this season. Somewhat surprisingly though, it’s the Broncos that are on top, with the Seahawks coming in second. Seattle dominated Denver en route to the Super Bowl title, and only appear to have gotten stronger coming into this season.

But the Broncos have Peyton Manning, and have made some upgrades in the defensive department to help with the record-setting offense from a season ago. Oddsmakers obviously haven’t been thwarted by Manning’s performance in the playoffs. At 13/2, Denver is the head of the class.

It’s not as if Seattle is far behind though. At 7/1, the Seahawks are essentially the same payout as the Broncos. There is plenty of reason to be excited if you are a Seahawks fan, though one thing to be concerned about is the fact that they are in the NFC West.

Two of the top-three Super Bowl 49 favorites come from the NFC West. The other would be the San Francisco 49ers, who lost to Seattle in the NFC Championship game last season. The 49ers bring back all of their important pieces and will almost certainly be a factor in the NFC playoff picture down the stretch.
