The World Cup is one of the largest international events in the world, with more viewership than any other. This will be the second time that Brazil has hosted the World Cup. The first time came back in 1950. In 2007, it was determined that Brazil would be the host following the World Cup in South Africa in 2010.

The defending champion of the World Cup is Spain, defeating the Netherlands 1-0 in the final in South Africa. The victory was the first World Cup title for Spain. More About The Host Country - Brazil

Without question, football (soccer) is the most-popular sport in the host-country of the 2014 World Cup. Brazil and soccer are synonymous with each other. There is no team in history that has won the World Cup more. Brazil has captured FIFA's flagship event five times (1958, 1962, 1970, 1994, and 2002).

The entire country of Brazil stops when the World Cup is played. Combine that with the fact that the 2014 World Cup is in their country, and there will be plenty of excitement and dedication expected for the Brazilians. Expectations are sky high for the Brazilian team to win the World Cup on home soil. A host country has won the World Cup six times, last happening in 1998 when France won the title.

Capturing the World Cup in 2014 for Brazil would unquestionably be the biggest feat in the history of the country. It would supersede the five previous World Cup titles. They are the favorites to win the 2014 World Cup according to most, so there will be a ton of pressure put on the players.
